Neil Armstrong (August 5, 1930- August 25, 2012)
We learned about him at school; first man to ever lay foot on the moon. Armstrong was also a university professor, aerospace engineer (engineering concerned with aircraft and spacecraft), test pilot... (Full biography on Wikipedia). And of course, my sister Leen reminded us that today was his birthday. (She hast this weird habit of remembering peoples' birthdays).
What does a person do in celebration of Neil Armstrong's birthday? Here's what Rafah, Yaman, and I did:
What you need:
Hole-puncher, glitter, yarn, scissors, sparkles, glue, stapler, cardboard, white paper, colors, pencil, little stars, compass, and of course cute siblings who just want to do something.
What to do:
1. Draw a circle (for the moon) using a compass on the white paper/ cardboard, & draw a rocket too!
2. Cut the shapes out
3. Draw half-circles on your moon so that it looks more like a moon & less like a white circle
5. Decorate your moon and rocket with glitter, sparkles, and stars.
6. Using the stapler, staple your moon and rocket together
And voila! Ready to hang up.
Problems you might face:
Little brothers who decide they want to throw your sparkles on the floor. Huge mess.
