This morning of Eid Fitr was frustrating. FRUSTRATING. I was
exhausted (Couldn’t sleep until 3 AM. & my post about insomnia did
not include taking sleeping pills or anything to help you sleep). Plus, I was
having a bad hijab day (which is basically like a bad hair day, just substitute
the hair with the hijab).
Finally, I managed to fix my hijab into some shape, and Eid started. I
realized that it’s not Eid that I don’t like, just bad hijab days :]
#1: EID FAMILY PICTURES!
With our newest family member (that would be the four wheeler)

#2: EID CHOCOLATE!
Mom bought the best, tastiest, yummiest Eid
chocolate. First thing to taste this morning. Yum.
Love. |
And we have this like, stash in the fridge- full of chocolate and sweets. Not helpful.
#3: EID VISITS!
We visited my grandparents’ houses. My aunts and uncles (who
weren’t always at home), then mom and dad dropped us at home and I changed into
my flip-flops and comfy pink shirt. So I had about 5 hours or something of Eid
taste. Like real Eid taste. And then some relatives came over & saw me in my homeless granny state. (ha-ha just kidding)
#4: EID LUNCH!
Which is basically regular lunch, but on Eid (leftovers, to be
exact). Below are some pictures of the leftovers from the leftovers. (Did you know that there's a dish called 'freaky'? It's similar to rice- the thing in the small glass plate on top)
Those were the main highlights of the day. I guess. Oh, and God bless people who don't think 16 is too old for a Eid gift. So how was everyone's day? :)
Let me tell you more about my sleeping technique effectiveness.
ReplyDeleteI flew to dubai with a friend last week. The flight is about 1 hour. In both flights going there and coming back, (one at noon and another at 9 pm) I had fallen asleep before take off and slept all the way through landing, and it was a rough landing. My friend was going to kill me in my sleep cuz he couldnt sleep for eve a sec :) Hamdulilah 3ala ne3met el noum.
You need to stop thinking of insomnia and thinking of sleep when you go to bed.
By 'sleeping technique' you mean the one where you picture blackness and a single white dot? Because, trust me, I did try it & it didn't work out!
